Aleš Kunaver – From Home Mountains to the Roof of the World, Temporary Exhibition

Starting on 17 October, the temporary exhibition Aleš Kunaver – From Home Mountains to the Roof of the World will be on view. It is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first ascent via a new route on Makalu, the world’s fifth-highest peak and the first (then Yugoslav) eight-thousander climbed by a Slovenian team.

A special display case is also devoted to Aleš Kunaver, featuring selected personal belongings donated by his wife Dušica Kunaver. With this commemorative showcase, the museum continues to honour his 90th anniversary, following the round table held at the National Museum of Contemporary History earlier this year.

The exhibition will be open until 14 December 2025.
