Fresh information for hikers and tourists
For hikers and tourists who would like to spend an interesting day in Mojstrana or the Triglav National Park, the Slovene Alpine Museum offers the following:
- Tourist Information Center Mojstrana
- Information point of the Triglav National Park
- Information point of the Alpine Convention
- Hiking office of the Association of Slovenian Mountain Guides
We provide information about exhibitions and accompanying museum events, as well as hiking, mountaineering, and other tourist programs in the area. You can get up-to-date information about weather conditions in the mountains, the opening status of mountain huts and shelters, guides, mountain trails, tips on safe movement and environmental behavior in the mountains, as well as details on the current tourist offerings.
In the immediate vicinity of the museum, in the Grančišče cliffs, there are two attractive protected climbing routes – via ferratas, which offer new experiences in the rocky kingdom. For climbing these, a basic mountaineering set – helmet, climbing harness, and self-rescue system – is mandatory and available for rent at the museum. If you’re a beginner at via ferratas, we recommend hiring a mountain guide.
The Mojstrana area is ideal for cycling trips. Even if you’ve left your bike at home, no worries – regular and electric bikes are available for rent at the museum.
