Searching for the Wild – My Explorations of the Kočevje Wilderness, a photographic exhibition by Petra Draškovič Pelc

In her photographic exhibition, Petra Draškovič Pelc opens a view into the Kočevje region as a space of silence, inner stillness, and a primal connection with nature. Her photographs are not merely documents of landscape, but subtle records of experience – moments in which light and shadow, presence and the unseen intertwine.

As a long-time explorer and guide of the Kočevje forests, she captures in her lens small yet meaningful traces of the wild: barely visible animal tracks, the play of light among the trees, and the rhythms of the forest as they shift through the seasons. Her work does not address the viewer through dramatic effect, but through a restrained, almost meditative aesthetic.

The exhibition thus becomes an invitation to slow down – to observe, to listen, and to feel a space where nature still retains its primordial power.
