50th Anniversary of the First Slovenian Ascent of an Eight-Thousander & 30th Anniversary of the Last of All Fourteen

We invite you to the opening of a temporary exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of the first Slovenian ascent of an eight-thousander – Makalu, and the 30th anniversary of the ascent and ski descent from the last of all fourteen – Annapurna.

The exhibition will open on Friday, 17 October 2025, as part of the museum evening “In the Spirit of Makalu and Kunaver’s Legacy.”
The travelling panel exhibition “50th Anniversary of the First Ascent of an Eight-Thousander, 30th Anniversary of the Last of All Fourteen” was created in cooperation with the Alpine Association of Slovenia. The rich photographic material was contributed by Viki Grošelj, a member of the expedition.

The exhibition will be on view until 31 October 2025. You are warmly welcome!
